the upside down dagger - wandering - fulzanin - 11-05-2019

In truth, she hadn't done all that much investigation into the territory. She usually didn't care for where she was as long as it was secure and safe. For as nonchalant as Aslisk was, those two things held high value for her. She wanted to feel safe. She required a sense of security. In absence, her irritable personality presented itself. She was away from her entire family. It was harder to be more uncomfortable than that. Her history had been riddled with things happening that she could not control, could fight against perhaps, but win? No. No. She hardly ever won a fight. Aslisk sure talked as if she was all that and seven bags of chips, but her physical strength was weak. Her body now was foreign to her, and it meant that she could not even use the little strength she had. Her strength had come from her powers, and now? Now she had strange and differently altered iterations of all of them. Instead of being able to disappear into the shade, she could disappear anyways. Instead of being able to become intangible in the dark, she could do so whenever she wanted. Teleportation was one and the same. Her shadow seemed as if it was any other.

She sought for familiarity. What better way to do such a thing than to investigate her current home. She wouldn't mind doing such alone, no, but Aslisk decided that she needed to... she huffed. There was no reasoning for it. Perhaps it was the slight worry of being alone and again being brought to an even stranger place. She could not pin down her own worry - if anything, she refused to acknowledge that the discomfort even existed. Her teeth clicked as she forcibly shoved her door open. Alright. Her plan for the day was set. Being awake in the daytime was the most annoying thing to her. Her slitted eyes already didn't allow a lot of light to enter and be received, but the bright sun bore down on her nonetheless. It felt hot on her scales. It added to the reasoning behind why she had mostly remained within her home during the day. The heat was uncomfortable, and she was already uncomfortable enough. It led to more irritability, and it cycled time, time, and time again, making her anger fester and grow like a frenzied plant. The daytime was when most others were awake, though. The wyvern sighed upon realizing that there truly was no working around it.

"Hey, featherbrains," Aslisk shouted upon finding herself teleporting over to some sort of congregation of Templars. She didn't care if she startled them - not caring was a deep part of her being. If she was indifferent, then no one would ever be able to tell if they were getting under her skin. Scales, now, as the wyvern was coated with scales rather than a layer of skin. "I'm about to host a trip to investigate the territory. You should come. And be useful. Instead of standing and talking and being absolutely stupid." She spat, head snapping towards another one of the NPC's. There was a flicker of delight in how the snap of her jaws momentarily caused them to recoil, and her scaly head raised higher. "If anyone else wants to come then they can, too. It's not like anyone has anything better to luslu do!" Another shrill shriek parted her maw, lifting her body up as if it would aid how her voice was carried.

Re: the upside down dagger - wandering - fulzanin - 11-09-2019

Aslisk's pace was swift, even if it was wobbly. Wyverns were meant to use their wings to trot along on all four's. Aslisk seemed bound and determined to not do such a thing if she could help it. Her tail would usually awkwardly curl behind her, but eventually after a few near faceplants into the ground she yielded and moved the way that her body was intended. It was annoying. She knew how to balance on her hind feet - she could do such a thing as long as she was not moving. Walking was another story. It heavily irritated her, not being able to stride confidently on her feet as she had back home. Irritation made her teeth clench together. The wyvern almost did lash out when she felt contact. Aslisk was far from a fan of any form of physical contact. Her earliest days had such associated with being held still so pikes could be thrust into her wings or chemicals through her tail. Then came the days where she had not felt any form of physical touch at all. Those were followed by the days with her wife, until she fell into a ravine and died. Then there was the pacifist, who had absolutely no concept of personal space and had glomped onto her wings and ignored any and all of her threats of doom. She had her wife back now, yes. That was the most physical contact she was willing to accept.

"Do that again and your followers will find you bound to your ceiling by your small intestine around your neck. Dont touch me." The threat curled sharply past her teeth, fury lacing her tone. Her tail smacked against the ground, as if to add a threatening 'boom' to aid her furious words. The wyvern wouldn't actually do such a thing. The threat came with ease, on impulse, and swiftly she began speaking once more. "Of course, I'd only do that if you wouldn't be such a waste of my time. Or if all the idiots around here wouldn't be more useless without their leader." Her cover-up was said with equally fierce tone lacing each and every word. Yes, Aslisk often handed out death threats like a person handed out candy on Halloween. The wyvern had. for a moment, managed to forget that she wasn't home. That this behavior liekly was less than acceptable. Would she admit her momentary recoil? No, she was far too stubborn for such a thing.

Being called Mistress was.. odd. Almost flattering. Aslisk wasn't fully sure what a mistress even was, if she was honest with herself. Her tail raised and slowly swung behind her, one of her webbed ears flicking. "I don't see why not." Came Aslisk's slow reply. It curled past her sharp teeth in a way that was slightly less than fully fledged anger and rage. It still sounded irritable. Aslisk's words nearly always had that undertone. She tried to lessen it, her then making a gesture with a wing to the direction that she had been walking in. "We're going that way," Aslisk added in, nodding her head slightly as she then lowered back onto her wings to continue her hasty trot along.

REDVOX "VINNY" ABRAMO - cis male - goat-bat hybrid - harbinger
[Image: pEeXKGc.png]
One of these days, Vinny was really gonna have to host a fucking anger management class exclusively for Aslisk. Not that he would be a particularly good teacher, considering he had a good amount of rage inside of him as well, but at least he knew how to keep things chill at least 70% of the time, which was a huge amount when compared to Aslisk's near constant rage. Aslisk's words were a sharp and furious threat, but Vox foundnthag he wasn't particularly worried, having heard yet enough threats from Aslisk thus far to not feel like she would actually act upon any of her sharp words. Shifting on his wings a little bit, the hybrid shook his head and said with a dry chuckle as he moved alongside Aslisk, his rectangle pupils, seeming to resemble something near amusement and exasperation, taking her in, "Not sure where th'ell you think you are, Aslisk, but this place doesn't operate on Pitt laws. Injurin' a clanmate's a crime, and injurin' the leader? You'd be dead within minutes. I won't touch ya, but say some shit like that again? We'll 'ave a fuckin' problem, cause I am in charge around 'ere, don't forget." His voice was surprisingly calm and warm, but his words were sharp and cold, and he gave Aslisk an almost daggertoothed grin before slowing down a bit to walk with D. He preferred D's company anyways, and he didn't particularly want to get into a huge fight with Aslisk at the moment – he just wanted to hang out and explore the territory while enjoying the company of his new clanmates.

Turning to D, Vinny offered them a calm smile before mumbling, his claws sinking just a bit into the earth as they walked along, "'Ey, D. Y'seen much of th'territory yet? If not, this'll be exciting as 'ell. And even if ya have, I'm sure there's places y'haven't seen yet." There were places even Vox hadn't fully explored yet, and he was the harbinger of the entire group. He then said, raising his eyes to watch the clouds up above, his tail behind him flicking from side to side, "And... y'know ya don't have to refer ta people with titles, right? Ya just gotta call them by their names! Like Aslisk is just Aslisk. Keep callin' her Mistress Aslisk, and she might a bit too big for her britches." He said it mostly teasingly, but after his earlier exchange with the wyvern, he didn't particularly want Aslisk thinking that she was in charge around here. Vinny didn't often lord his power over anyone, and he wasn't trying to make it a habit, but getting threatened in his own home? Aslisk needed to watch herself, or she would be out on her ass without even the Pitt to go back to.

Hamaru decided traumatic head injury would be number two on his list of things he absolutely despised, squished tightly between ‘anything with purple eyes’ and ‘holes’. Holes because he had fallen into three of them in the past hour wandering this freakin place, purple eyes because.... he wasn’t sure, he couldn’t remember why. Hamaru in fact was facing a massive mental blank, the black and teal amalgamation of something with scales and something with hooves and horns and justttt a bit of something with fur had NO IDEA where he was.
That was annoying, inconvenient, any other negative term that could be used to express just how much he hated this situation. Hamaru stopped and flopped against a tree trunk, lifting a paw to lap at his prickled pads. Stupid, STUPID thorns, he snagged one with his teeth and pulled it out, spitting it away. This was just great, just amazing, ABSOLUTELY PERFE-
His ears perked when he heard voices somewhere off to his right, and he hissed softly. Oh so now Hamaru finally had company? He wasn’t sure why he immediately assumed he’d have to fight, but some instinct buried in him said he could and would fight if he had to. Despite his aches Hamaru stood and raised his hackles.

Upon arriving to this strange world, Aslisk hadn’t expected to see absolutely anyone familiar to her. Redvox almost matched the description of someone she knew. Not a friend. Aslisk wouldn’t admit to such a thing. The horns, the legs (somewhat), the wings, and that attitude were all reminders. Yet she had begun to accept - especially now after his warm yet sharp words - that they were not one and the same. This was a different kind of goat and bat hybrid. Aslisk felt foolish for even daring to consider a comparison. Here was nothing like home, it was worse in absolutely every way that she dared to imagine. Her ears flicked, red eyes narrowing. It had been on instinct, her sharp reply. Her threats usually were empty air, never truly acted on. A soft hiss parted her maw. She truly wanted to retaliate with some sharp words of her own - especially when the comment of being too big for her britches was made. It infuriated her. Yet Aslisk bit down on her tongue for a few seconds, managing to compile her thoughts away from sheer fury. “Whatever you lusluing say,” Aslisk replied in a far more controlled tone.

Of course, she hadn’t been expecting someone familiar to her to show up here. This place was foreign and, in truth, she was hating it more and more every day. If her behavior was so repulsive, the wyvern debated on leaving so that she could go without being belittled. Aslisk hated it severely, teeth clenching together harder. “Oh, hask, another firesprink lookalike.” Aslisk muttered. It was actually the firesprink though. The one and only. Aslisk, of course, couldnt immediately tell. She was used to seeing him upright, bandages covering his face, with plasma filled warmth being annoyingly present. She looked different too - but the yellow scar across her face and blue facial markings certainly were a trait to her and her alone. Aslisk could recognize the parts, hence her dubbing him yet another firesprink. Well, her exploration for the territory was now distracted by moving closer, raising onto her two feet when she arrived a somewhat comfortable series of taillengths of distance. Her head turned, sticking her tongue out at Redvox. “Look at what your cruel words did, Vex. You’ve summoned another hasking firesprink. I didn’t even know that was possible.” The smirk on her face suggested that her slip of the tongue was intentional, red gaze then flickering back to the newcomer once again. Familiar, more familiar than a Gat, for certain.

REDVOX "VINNY" ABRAMO - cis male - goat-bat hybrid - harbinger
[Image: pEeXKGc.png]
Redvox was... well, he'd be lying if he said that he wasn't pleased with the fact that Aslisk didn't snap back at him any further than just grumbling out one of her strange curses. He gave a sharp grin at Aslisk for a moment, before he was distracted by the appearance of yet another new face. A confused and worried look came to the harbinger's face as he glanced towards Hamaru, opening his mouth to introduce himself – when suddenly Aslisl interrupted. His ears pinned down against his head as he heard her words, and the hybrid rolled his eyes before grumbling at the wyvern, shaking his head, "Aslisk... I don't even fuckin' know what a firesprink is. 'Ve'never even seen this guy in m'life. That would be why I was about to introduce m'self." He then glanced back towards Hamaru, stepping a little bit more towards D in a sort of protective way – not that D really needed protection, if Vox was being honest with himself. Waving a wing, Vox mumbled to Hamaru after a moment, trying not to seem too threatening – just in case Hamaru just wanted to join and wasn't a threat, "'Ey there. What's up, ya here to join or somethin'? 'Cause this is Halls of Hiraeth territory, 'n' if you're not, we're gonna 'ave some problems." He couldn't help it, he had already been in an aggressive mood thanks to Aslisk, and now there was some stranger on his territory? He could only hope that whoever Hamaru was, he hadn't come over the border intentionally.

His questioning was interrupted by the soft words of D from beside him, and he glanced towards them, listening to what they had to say. It seemed as though his earlier comment had gone ignored, considering the fact that he had once again been addressed as "Harbinger Redvox." A sigh left him before he spoke again, nodding a little bit as he mumbled, gently patting D on the back, "I guess it isn't 'necessary' for ya t'see much more than th'main buildin', but that doesn't mean that it isn't fun ta explore around, ya know?" He doubted that D would know, but he couldn't help but ask. He wasn't used to having someone like D in the group, considering he hadn't ever really met anybody like them. D just seemed so... mechanical. Not in an entirely bad way, but definitely a very interesting way, and one that would take a while for Vox to completely understand. Especially since D seemed to respect him so very much, something that was even more completely disorienting for the hybrid, who didn't often think very highly of himself.

Hamaru had his eyes (well, more like eye, given one was clearly blind. Such was bluntly announced by a puffy, milky looking layer of white and grey, that gradually became redder and darker near the center.) on Aslisk, and there was recognition in his gaze. He knew her like she knew him, not like this. He was used to some baggy blue sweater, this little feather thing around a horn, but oh lucky him, her sass and brutal sarcasm were still present.
“Oh for fucksake,” he uttered, rump flopping down to the floor making a sound that somehow managed to sound disappointed, his shoulders sagging. His wings followed suit, flopping to rather side.
Hamaru looked like he had been expecting some big juicy piece of prey and instead he got the most bitter and scrawny thing imaginable.
“Hi Aslisk, firesprink yourself,” he groaned, before he glanced over at the two others and realized he had no idea who they were.
“Join a pair of strangers in the middle of some creepy place? Sure, sure why the fuck not, I’m lost anyways.” Now it was impossible to tell, but something deep inside him under all the anger issues and all his typical Hamaru-y frustration... was a small sense of joy. Someone he knew was here, and that made it somewhat okay.
So join it was, after all Vox had said there would be problems if that wasn’t the case. He didn’t doubt his fighting abilities, but was also smart enough to consider the fact that he was currently faced with two beings he had no information on, and well, Aslisk had always been a bit of a wild card in his mind and he wasn’t absolutely certain that she would be with him or against him if a fight did break out. ‘Honestly just to spite me she’d probably side with them...’ he thought with a mental groan.

Re: the upside down dagger - wandering - fulzanin - 11-13-2019

"Sucks to suck and not know what a firesprink is, then," The wyvern's response to Redvox was cheeky. She moved her weight from side to side as if to add on to the sarcastic and ever demeaning tone of rage that curled past her sharp teeth. Her red eyes could only roll upon hearing the other's spiel of a threat - not that Aslisk even deemed Redvox's words as threatening - before a huff sounded. "You say you're gonna introduce yourself and then you don't. Hypocrital son of an Xiogipa," Aslisk added on, her head bobbing a little. Another strange, strange word that curled past her maw. One that certainly did not sound simple to produce. Adjusting to have a snout was odd. Yet spitting out the name of a species she had known since her youth was simple, easy, and effective. Her tail swung sharply behind her, staring at Redvox still. "You really need a class on selling stuff to people, hask."

Her attention then returned to Hamaru. Especially when he spoke - oh, she would know that voice anywhere. That was the firesprink himself, in the flesh, before her as an even worse unholy amalgamation than she had ever seen him as before. "Hamaru, I can't firesprink myself. That'd be like me trying to be you. Which is impossible, and a complete and utter downgrade. I know you're smaller now; did you're brain lusluing shrink too?" A sarcastic grin was spread across her face. So she was not alone, she was not the only person from her home that had been brought here. For a moment the thought of demanding to know how Ichigo and her children were doing surged to mind. A swift glance at the two other Templars swiftly buried that desire. Yes, she had often declared her motives while hoarding bowls, but the wyvern deemed it not a good idea to admit such at the time. "How about you get off your quartok and start walking so you can stop being somewhat lost. Unless you want to sit here and whine like a little hatchling. It'll do you good to walk around. Come on. Get up." Aslisk stamped a foot on the ground, as if that would somehow urge the other to get off his rump and come along. "I'm lost too but I'm not moping, you hask." The wyvern was stuck with her Nitisian swears, the ones that sounded like deep snarls. Not like the language of beasts that Hamaru could speak, but were.. almost similar in the way that they sounded like the most enraged noise in a vocal set to emit. She waved a wing and began moving again, staring at Hamaru with her vibrant red eyes.

REDVOX "VINNY" ABRAMO - cis male - goat-bat hybrid - harbinger
[Image: pEeXKGc.png]
Vox could feel himself seething when Aslisk gave him a cheeky response, and he wanted to snap back about how he was the "fuckin' harbinger and deserved some fuckin' respect," but he held himself back, mainly because of the fact that Hamaru had just agreed to join them. He opened his mouth to greet Hamaru, a small smile curling on his face, but Aslisk interrupted again, and Vinny glared at her, raising a wing to try and cuff Aslisk over the head. He then looked back towards Hamaru, flashing a sharptoothed smile as he greeted the "firesprink" as Aslisk referred to him as, "Ah, sorry 'bout that, I should'a introduced m'self. M'name is Redvox, but ya can call me Vox or Vinny. I'm I'm charge 'round here, and this place is called th'Halls of Hiraeth.... nice ta see y'already know one of us." He could only really hope that Hamaru wouldn't be as much of a pain in the ass as Aslisk could end up being at some points. Truthfully, he had no idea what the hell Aslisk was going off about right now, but he glared a little at her as he spoke, sitting back on his hooves and snapping softly, "'Ey, Aslisk. I don't care if y'know this guy or not. Don't be an asshole to somebody who just joined, y'get me?" He was getting real tired of snapping at Aslisk lately, but he was also just a bit pissed off that Aslisk thought she could just say whatever stupid or cruel shit came to mind in the moment.
