thank god i'm not you - joining
« on: December 26, 2018, 02:47:48 PM »
He was the epitome of a death god. Dark, massive, and ominousness, the male was a frightening sight to behold. The grizzly bear's fur was as black as tar, his blue eyes so pale they almost appeared white. While the male tried his best to look as frightening and nightmarish as possible, that was really not the case. With his head held high, the shinigami lumbered forward, eyes staring straight ahead. While he moved, the bear failed to realize where he was stepping. A front paw landed on the small hole in the ground, shaking the ground below due to his weight. As he proceeded forward, a sudden buzzing noise quickly brought him down from his high horse. What was that noise? As soon as the question formed in his head, a sudden, sharp pain exploded through his rear, causing the bear to roar in pain and quickly whip around.

He saw no one, so, who attacked him? Another piercing pain shot through him, this time on his shoulder. It was then did the death god spot something small buzzing around his head: A bee. He had stepped on a bee nest. Realizing this, Ryker reared up on his hind legs, swatting at the bugs before dropping back down and charging away as fast as he could go. Knocking down small trees and shrubs, the black grizzly dodged and turned, trying to knock the bees off of his trail. He managed to crash over the border, ruining the vegetation and the landscape in his path. Finally, he spotted water. Launching himself into the water, the bear held himself under the surface until the bees finally threw in the towel. Surfacing, he crawled onto the shore, breathless. What a day.

It was pretty commonplace for Steve to be the little guy around. He was never surprised by it, and hadn't truly been bothered by that fact in a while, but sometimes, certain people could still surprise him by how small they could make him feel. At least Bucky wasn't huge. He was large, and so much more so than Steve, but he wasn't a bear, and for a few moments, after watching the massive creature launch himself into the water and crawl up onto the shore, he was briefly disoriented. From a distance, the guy wasn't so looming, but when Steve made his way closer to investigate, the sheer scope of his size was definitely a little startling. The bear could sit on him and Steve would leave only a microscopic smear on the ground, although rather than grow intimidated and leave him for someone else to take care of, Steve figured that he was the best person for the job. If he did turn out to be hostile, then better they find out through someone who wasn't worth so very much.

"What's the rush? Think you probably managed to scare off all the prey for miles."

Despite being large for a domestic feline, there are several moments in Bucky's life where he feels small. Ximen, a mutated cheetah with ram horns, manipulated Bucky and tore away his front left leg. There was nothing Bucky could do to stop the manipulation from happening, as there was no way a maine coon like him could fight off a cheetah. Fast forwarding to the present day, while Bucky managed to slip away from Stryker with Steve's help, it left quite an impact on the maine coon. Days afterwards, he felt scared and helpless-- that he nearly fell under Stryker's control, and couldn't even fight off the lion by himself. While in those cases, Bucky felt powerless and weak due to his size disadvantage, it doesn't always have to be like that. He can feel small while coming across a large dog, or in this case, a bear.

Steve wasn't the only little guy up against this grizzly bear. In the few instances in his life that he ran across a bear, the bear had been hostile, trying to attack either him or his clanmates. So he felt a little cautious as he padded over, taking his place beside Steve. Ryker could easily stomp on Bucky, or even swipe at him with their claws. Bucky wouldn't have a chance to fight back, even his metal claws won't sink into fur as thick as a grizzly bear. He can only hope this bear isn't planning to attack the moment he's approached. The bear seemed to be out of breath, while being soaked to the bone. He wasn't sure what exactly caused Ryker to apparently take a little swim. Light blue gaze locking on Ryker, the maine coon spoke up. "You're on Sunhaven territory," He meowed, his tail swishing back and forth, "I need your name and your business with our group." He glanced over at Steve momentarily, nodding lightly in agreement with the devon rex's comment.
