HANDS OF A THIEF ☆ goldie
« on: March 19, 2020, 06:10:47 PM »
It was odd, being awake again after so many days spent in a deep sleep, barely aware of the world around him. When he had been in his coma, it had felt as if he was in an entirely different world, where he was a whole different person, and none of the souls he had come to know ever existed. However, he had been able to remember everything about the Typhoon, and had spent every waking – or not so waking – moment attempting to get back to them. Fighting to get back into the arms of Kilius, and talk casually with Keona, and feel at home with Goldie. The wolf had admired Goldie ever since the first day he had met her, and that hadn't changed when he had fallen asleep, right after she had established herself as temporary leader of the Pitt. What she had done was incredibly brave, and he could only really ever imagine being as strong as she was. He wanted to be a hero like her, one day, but he'd never be able to do that if he was stuck inside his own head all the time, which was why he had fought his way out.

It had been several hours since he had woken up, disoriented, dehydrated, and starving. Thankfully it hadn't taken long for him to see a few familiar faces, and to get the food and water he so desperately needed, but there was still one face among them that he was longing to see – Goldie. It had taken a bit of gentle nudging for the hero of the wilds to get the information he was looking for, but eventually he had been informed which hut was Goldie's, having forgotten after so much time "away." The male looked a little bit better as he crossed through the sands towards Goldie's home, but he was still hardly anywhere near what he had been before the coma. His fur seemed to hang off of his bones, and the markings beneath his eyes had seemingly taken on a sickly eyebag nature. Despite this, the canine still found himself excited as he padded up to the door of Goldie's house, his tail swinging behind him as he rose a paw to knock on the door, "G... Goldie, are you home?" His voice was still fairly hoarse, both from months of disuse and his body recovering from dehydration – along with the fact he had never used it much in the first place.

AND I'VE COME REVELING, BURNING INCANDESCENTLY
LIKE A BASTARD ON THE BURNING SEA
YOU'RE  JUST  LIKE  YOUR  FATHER

BURIED   DEEP   UNDER   THE   WATER
There were few things Goldie found herself humbled by, apologetic about. Normally, the headstrong captain would demand her way is the right way, that if others did not accept that then they were the fools at the end of the day. And most of the time, she was at least mostly right, she'd like to think. But, there was something so...scary about the way she is now. Perhaps it was the knowledge of what had happened before. Perhaps it is the fact that she knew it would change everything, that it already has. Perhaps it was a great mixture of things. The relief, at least, came to her that many already knew of the situation she was in, and that all have accepted it for what it was. But, the appearance of someone she's known, cared for deeply - the danger of them finding out, it did not feel welcome in her pounding head - another headache. She stumbled lightly around the hut, ear twitching as a knock hits the entrance.

She pauses, not answering the door immediately, though it was quite likely he'd already scented her presence, heard her pawsteps. There was still most certainly a hesitance, a fear revolving the nature of her appearance, only exemplified by the fact that her feather earring was still...gone. The tigress looks down, breathing soft and slow. A paw reaches up to the door handle, pushing it open slowly. She knew the voice, and she was ecstatic - relieved to be hearing it, but it knew her image. How would it change, upon seeing her like this? The female blinks towards Hushsound, looking him over quietly as she stands in her doorway. Her head is held low, eyes squinted from the pounding pain of her head. The hero he so admired had not, truthfully, changed so much over the months, other than one fatal vulnerability, and now, all of the consequences of said weakness. It was no secret, looking at her, what she carried, and what injuries befell her head, her ear. But, still, this was not the other's fault, and if he were to accept her regardless, then she supposes that was enough. If he didn't, well, she guesses she couldn't be so surprised. It was only a matter of time before someone didn't.

She offers a shy smile, head slightly tilted. Once more, her paw reaches out, attempts to pull the other in a light hug. "Have a good nap?" At least, she knew he'd woken.

If Hush had known what was going through Goldie's head as he stood waiting in front of her door... he probably would've been devastated. Not because of what had happened to her – although the circumstances definitely weren't great – but because of the fact that she would ever think he'd be disappointed in her or turn away from her for what had happened. The pregnancy or the attack, or both. Neither were important to him, although they were both important on some level – he just didn't see them as reasons to reject someone who was practically family to him. He'd never be made to look at her as lesser, especially not just because she had been taken off guard by a surprise attack. Hush had been a knight – he had a sense of honor and loyalty that was ironclad, and although finding out about Goldie's pregnancy and what had happened to her would be a shock, it would be far from the end of the world that the captain was making it out to be in her head. Then again, it seemed as though Goldie knew full well just how much she could be overreacting, if her past interactions with others, such as Sam, were anything to go by.

When the door to Goldie's home finally opened, Hush felt a rush of relief and joy, as if he had been terrified she had disappeared out from under his nose. Even if he had been reassured by several others that Goldenluxury was indeed still leader of the Typhoon, it hadn't felt real until he had seen her in person once again. Once the initial rush of adrenaline and euphoria wore off, the canine allowed himself to truly see her, his eyes scanning over her form and taking in the hesitant way she held herself. He felt worry, but obviously the thing that caught his eye the most was her belly. That definitely wasn't just a little bit of extra weight. He stared for a moment, but quickly tore his gaze away, not wanting to be rude after just coming back. After he glanced back upwards, he found himself being pulled into a hug that he gladly returned, a soft laugh leaving him as he briefly closed his eyes. He mumbled softly after a moment, a faint smile on his muzzle, "I did... but I much preferred waking up, even though I didn't exactly feel spectacular when I did." His voice was still scratchy, and it cracked at certain points, but it wasn't as if his paws were free at this moment.
