BEWARE, BEWARE THE DAUGHTER OF THE SEA
BEWARE, BEWARE OF ME.
To be totally honest, she was beginning this all a little late, and she felt pretty damn bad about that. But, she would feel worse if she didn't do it at all. Calypso's Carnival was one of the biggest things she'd gotten to witness her papa organize and the female was truly nervous for the first time in a while - she had to live up to her papa's legacy and, so far, she thought she was achieving it relatively successful, and she's hosted plenty of large events before, but she did not want to fuck this up even in the smallest amount. It is a tradition of her people - one that had been there to bring her family together, and keep her happier in what would have soon been one of the lowest points of her life - and she'd be thoroughly disappointed if she did not present it correctly. And, to be even more honest, she'd never even participated in a spar before. She'd simply never been a big fan of the idea of them. What the fuck were they even like? Shit.

The golden tiger prepares the Hidden Colosseum for the event, her mind going over her many ideas. Even if she was not one-hundred percent certain of what she was supposed to do in this situation, she at the very least wanted to offer them the basics, along with some good food. Even if the sparring part ends up crumbling, they'll at least get to say they enjoyed themselves with the food and silly paints they got to spread over themselves and others. She set it all along the sidelines, keeping the seats and center clear for both the audience and the fighters. Would she take part in the spar? Maybe...

The captain, now having everything set up, would send her harpy eagle, Lynn, off to drop flyers she'd created - simply to inform them of the event - beginning at sundown, the Colosseum was open for all who wished to take part or watch spars, throw glow in the dark paints at each other, talk to some Tanglewood allies, or simply want some food. Now all that was left to make sure everything was tidy while she waited.

Delivered via eagle, a basket of goods courtesy of the Typhoon had turned up on the wetlands’ outskirts recently. The fish-scented wicker container brought earthy herbs, picturesque flowers, and a free pass to some festival of colours. As fond as he was for the Typhoon’s pirates, the occasion itself initially wasn’t enough to entice him. However, the promise of free grub was not one easily withstood, and the guardsman eventually found himself caving in to Goldenluxury’s invitation. Glow-in-the-dark paint wasn’t necessarily his forte, but the idea of conversing with his seafaring allies, engaging in sparring sessions, and chowing down on some aforementioned free food would gradually grow on him.

Roughly two months ago, a fatigued Leroy dillydallied at the brink of his allies’ territory, heavy heat-fueled pants spewing from his maw.

Today, he eagerly lumbered about deep inside the Typhoon’s land, delirium buzzing around his brain while he awaited the shindig’s commencement.

A sensation of elation permeated within his system when attending parties, and that sensation he thrived off of. A sizeable number of days sat between this bash and the last, and the lack of raving it up severely dampened his mood. Since the festival of colours would go down as his biggest party to date, however, so in his eyes it made up for the lengthy absence of partying.

He’d spot the captain down the way, doing captain things as per usual. Amber hues darted in just about every direction, scanning the coliseum to identify any other attendees - failing to do so in the process.

Last time he saw the tiger, she frantically stood at Tanglewood’s border, an injured Crow Roux by her side. Now, the setting was an empty coliseum, and at the current moment, it was just him and her.

An awkward grin worn upon his face, he’d mutter a phrase along the lines of "hate being the first one," as he closed in on the lone leader. Once his strolling came to a close, he parked himself at the nose of the large feline.

"Looks like ya did good!" Leroy exclaimed merrily, dipping his noggin into a respectful nod whilst his gruff tone rang throughout the setting. "The gig usually this quiet, Ms. Goldenluxury? Or did I come a tad early?"

Though he spoke lightly now, there were some words to be had with Goldenluxury. Words surrounding specific recent events. Recent events that he was most displeased with. Mayhaps it was most unwise of him to do so at such an occasion, yet Leroy knew her to be the only other person to share his opinion on the topic.

Distracted by her little tasks now - currently, this includes rearranging the foods to organize them better, she wouldn't immediately recognize Leroy had stepped in. But, just before he speaks, her gaze lands upon him by sheer accident, and she offers a sheepish smile in a bit of an apology that she'd not greeted him immediately. The female stops moving around the plates and would approach the familiar male with a smile. She was happy to see him here - he'd been very pleasant before, especially considering he'd come before their alliance was even announced. She would give a small shrug towards his awkward comment, not really sharing the same feelings; which, to be fair, she'd never felt awkward as easily as most others did. But, she'd flash a grin towards his praise.

"'Course I did, 've been throwin' only the best parties since I was lil'," she would boast jokingly, tossing her head back dramatically and letting out a small chuckle. The conversation comes naturally to the female most times, having plenty of experience as the former head of their commune guild (and simply, daughter of the captain; she'd better be good at talking). The female was about to say more, when the canine speaks up once more, and she would look around. Truthfully, yes, she'd expect at least one crewmate to be here by now, but it's likely they were all busy with other things. "Well, you're not extremely early, but the pirates can sometimes be a bit fashionably late. We've all always got things t' do, after all. 'm happy t' keep ya entertained 'til they do show up." Not to say Tanglewood wasn't full of busy bees either, but she'd hope that, eventually, all of them would set aside time for something fun, such as parties. Besides, the pirates she knew could not resist a sparring session (most of them, anyway).

Her eyes are focused on the male, head tilting as he seems to have something else to say, though he's quiet now.

Maybe it was a harsh shame that made the Doecat go. In all reality, she expected Leroy to be a party type. Not party like highschooler party, maybe more like the adults were partying in the dining room while the teenagers were off doing dope or something. She didn't really know. Were they all teenagers in the end, in soul and in mind? Or were there actually people with adult like minds? Whatever. Parties were parties, right?

Sam stepped into the venue not long after Leroy, eyes glancing about the Colosseum. She let out a low whistle, before coughing soon after. Shit, her asthma was getting worse, wasn't it? She glanced towards Leroy and Goldie, biting her cheek. She didn't want to interrupt them. Instead, she stalked towards the food, taking a plate and gathering food before sulking the corner.

I GRIEVE IN STEREO, THE STEREO SOUNDS STRANGE.
Man, she hated being early. It was awkward. Especially when two of the only participants there had their own conversation going on, and she wasn't going to be rude. Arrow would have shown up regardless, she just wasn't the punctual type, but she was the social type. And being social meant showing her face around these things.

She'd already gotten into the food, hanging out and waiting for others to show, observing the Colosseum and everything set up. It was nice, admittedly, and Arrow was a little too intrigued by the paint. Her tail lashed about, her mind wandering to the idea of just going apeshit and turning some poor bastard into a colorful abomination. Not unsuspectingly of course, that was entirely Beck's sort of thing. God, it'd be fun though. She just chewed on one of the many food items Goldie had laid out, waiting out the early minutes.

Birthed by the female’s buoyant retort, yellow-ish pearly whites revealed themselves in a toothy grin, sending a gaunt tongue out the side of the guardsman’s maw. A lively soul such as his coupled well with one of the same sort, and Goldenluxury’s upbeat disposition was no different. Her presence alone imbued the atmosphere with enough spirit to enliven even Leroy - a feat that went unparalleled back home in the swamp. A miniature chuckle of his own was dispatched in response to the one that followed the tiger’s amusing riposte, quieting up in time for her next few words. As she made mention of her own comrades, the hound glanced in all directions of the arena in hopes of spotting someone familiar. Through a winced gaze (which his partially-disabled eye did not aid in any regard), the male managed to locate faint outlines, ones belonging to felines, nearing the munchies table. If not for the swampy stench that they brought with them, he would have never been able to discern their homeland.

Though reassuring, as they had pushed aside the awkward vibes attained from being the sole partygoer, the Tanglers’ attendance would prove inconvenient for the time being. Going about the next step in his intentions may seem fishy to the unaware, and that’s the only type of attention that he did not desire.

The tigress’ prolonged rubberneck gave him the inkling that she was quick to catch on. She knew very well that he had more to say.

"Good t' hear you got everything in tip-top shape here, Cap," the mutt wholly renewed, before continuing in a pessimistic tone, "shame it ain't the same where I'm from." Without allowing his target a chance to reply, Leroy abruptly leaned in, inching his noggin towards the tigress’ left ear as far as his neck allowed.

"Stryker showed up the other day," he muttered in a harsh whisper, "and Mr. Crow let him escape unharmed."

No shame was felt while selling out his leader.

Besides, who was the true traitor? Leroy, for sharing tribe affairs with someone they didn’t concern? Or Crow, for refusing to off a war criminal on the spot?
