Departures / Open Permanently leaving + gem giveaway
« on: December 25, 2018, 07:26:12 PM »Since joining the site when it first loaded up, and having been there during the earlier days of its creation, I never suspected that I would tire of it so soon despite my on/off relationship with it. For a time it felt like the first home that I had since FF, and I was grateful for the opportunity to help out when it was a baby.
Unfortunately, I had yet to completely integrate myself into the community as it wasn't my cup of tea. Issues popped up and I never truly felt apart of it and I experienced that loss every time I logged on. While it caused me several misgivings, it was never truly worth the emotional turmoil, and so now I am leaving to respect my own wishes. I would respectfully rather not stay in a place where I both feel no apparent attachment to the community or feel as if I'm particularly wanted.
I joined this site for second chances as was advertised and received none. This blame does not fall on the staff, as that is out of their control. This is not a rant about them, or a rant in general, just a first-hand experience and plea for the community to do better and rid themselves of any pre-conceived notions they have of others. I would think that as a people we would strive to not repeat the mistakes of other platforms having all been through it before. I do not want history to repeat itself on BoB, as it is young, growing, and has a lot of potential.
This is a criticism. I wish I could stay to help, but I believe a barrier preventing me from doing that is my past. This is me accepting that it is apart of me and I will now focus on becoming an adult where I was once a child. It took this place to realize this, and I have marked it sourly with a leaving thread, and for that I apologize. I wish it could be different.
In the hope that many will take my advice and do better, I am giving out gems. I have 171k. Just post below stating interest and i'll give them out. I no longer need them.
Lastly, I want to thank a few people for bringing me joy. @OrionDoggo @TOBOGRINCH @Cakie ! @tricky. @persia. I appreciate you all and I hope you do well for yourselves in the future because you deserve it. All of you taught me to take happiness where it counted in small measures and it's helped a lot. <3

For the most part it's understandable that one would find concern with the inactivity and the "lack" of attention being given to the group, but as someone who has lead The Pitt and has gone through a stressful situation like the one the leader is going through now (due to their multiple apologies & notices on behalf of their absence) it's still note-worthy that they are trying, are posting, and definitely are trying to interact with the community through plotting threads. I.e., the holiday threads & the weekly tasks. As a bystander the only problem I have is with the guide, and since it's already been updated... /shrug/. All we have to do is try better next time and hope that it doesn't happen again.
I think it's good to remind yourself that it takes two to tango, so to speak. Encouragement, bringing fresh ideas to the table and offering to help would bring activity up -- it shouldn't always have to be up to the leader to carry all of the baggage. If anything, it just makes it worse for everyone if one person (or two, in this case) are doing all the work. I see that situation happening with The Pitt, and I really think it would be easier for everyone if we brought matters like this to maybe the discord server instead so we as a group can discuss it together and try to make it better as I know that would bring a lot more attention to it since not all the active members will see it here.

The Pitt / Announcement Stepping Down

As some of you may know I haven't been doing too good as of late. We just moved and still have yet to get internet, school is especially hard this year, my computer decided to break on me and my attitude towards my leaderly duties have grown sour because of my distance from the site. Muse is hard to come by and I no longer can carry Esklav and my responsibilities to you guys as a group.
Despite the stress, I'm proud of my contributions to the group and the fact that I completeled my goal of upping overall activity and getting a load of new members interested to join. I'm stepping down so I don't drag The Pitt down with me, and hope with all of my heart that this great thing we have going on continues. You guys deserve it.
As far as replacements go, since I didn't elect an official deputy I've asked Orion to step up in my place. We seem to have roughly the same vision of where The Pitt should go, and I trust them to carry this place in my stead. I wish them the best luck, both as a close friend and as a peer <3
I'm leaving the site for the next year or so but will be active on the main BoB discord server. If you need me, message me there!! :^)

Tracking! Before my leave I had attempted to start driving in the more brutal aspects of the group with Esklav, as to align with what the group originally was intended to be (unwelcoming to outsiders + survival of the fitest). Once I come back, I'll be sure to elaborate on this further ICly and edit the guide to clarify their stance. Thank you! ☺
