MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
I am not the only traveler
Who has not repaid his debt
I've been searching for a trail to follow again
Take me back to the night we met

A garden was a beautiful place to die.

She appreciated it idly, a shaky breath drawn in, held, and then released, the faint aroma of roses successful in calming her. Perhaps she'd close her eyes and meditate before her end inevitably came, contemplating things that she could not understand before her immortality was stripped of her and her life claimed. "I love you. I'm so proud of you. Thank you. Thank you so much." The words echoed in her mind, meaningless, a mere reminder of events that had transpired just moments before, moments that were skewed and unintelligible now. The only thing he had left her with was an innate understanding of what was about to happen. At least she was at peace. At least she was going with an old friend.

At least Margaery Emilia Mikaelson-Folie wasn't afraid.

"Maarit, are you ready?"

The voice did not startle her. Perhaps it might have, if things had been different and her memories had been intact. But Margaery had taken special precautions to ensure that everything that made her her lived on in a different way, in Bastilleprisoner. He possessed her goodbyes too. Not that she knew that, she didn't know much of anything as she turned towards the obsidian jaguar. "Selene," She began quietly, the name weighing heavy on her tongue. She observed the goddess for a few seconds, stormy-blue gaze unwavering. Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. The more she recited the command in her head, the more it became her reality, the chill in her veins dissipating as a smile blossomed upon her lips.

"It's been a glorious ride, darling. I'm ready."

It was all the confirmation Selene needed.

Lips would part to whisper one more thing, one more promise. It was barely audible, more of a whistle of the wind than anything else. "I love you, Suiteheart. Always and forever."

Roses blossomed all around her just after the words fell from her mouth, certainly a poetic end as she crumpled to the ground.

It had indeed been a glorious ride.

But every story had to come to a close and Margaery's story had perhaps gone on for too long. One thousand years of life, after all, was more of a curse than anything else. At least she was free now though, finally relieved of the burden of immortality, of vampirism, of her father and her pain.

Even in death, her heart was so full.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do
Haunted by the ghost of you
Take me back to the night we met

(this is short and sweet bc margy is dying peaceful and happy and that's all that matters. i'll be back with a new character very very shortly!! <3 also props to anyone who recognized that grassina and i matched our thread lyrics lmao)

MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
After a thousand years of life, of loving and hating and killing and loving again, Margaery had never expected to see a conclusion to her story. She was above death, would forever be above death, her soul indestructible and protected by the goddess Selene, her patron deity. Her savior. To her, succumbing to inevitable darkness was nothing more than something to joke about, to laugh about, to mention lightly in passing because she'd always return to her friends and her family. She had seen centuries come and she'd continue to see centuries go, never changing, but always suffering as those she loved were claimed by death. Immortality had never been a blessing, no... to Margaery, it was a burden. A curse. A disease. She had been the architect of so many disasters, had dismantled families because she was bored. Because Maarit hadn't lived and died in that sleepy viking village all those years ago.

Margaery was tired. Living was difficult when you had seen everything, done everything. She had her children and she had her wife and she had her clan and that should have been enough. And it was... it was enough until it wasn't. Until the force of her crimes, of her monstrosities, began weighing on her more and more and more and more. Until the promise of relief and peace practically took her breath away. That was where she was at now, sitting silently besides Suiteheart as she thumbed through an old photo album. She hadn't felt this light in a very long time as she leaned into the familiar warmth of her wife, relishing in the solid comfort she was provided, breath catching in her throat as the reality of what was about to happen overwhelmed her. She had been death for so long and finally, finally she was going to be free. And Bast was going to help give her that freedom.

As he entered the room, she released a faint sigh, not at all surprised to see him standing before them. "Filius meus. Dulcis puer meus. I'm just going to get to the point even though I know you're smart enough to figure all of this out," She began quietly, evenly, not at all bothered by the fact that she was giving up everything for a chance to finally rest. "We've decided that we've lived for long enough. Selene needs two sacrifices and Suite and I are going to fill those roles this month. We should have died a long time ago in retrospect. I'm glad we didn't. I'm glad I got to meet you and Hazel and Moon... all of my children... everyone here." She paused, tears filling her eyes. A smile appeared on her face though, one that hopefully communicated how ready she was, how ready she had been. "Can you help us? I think... I think you know what we need." They had to work quickly, Margaery knew that, and yet, she felt no desire to rush Bastille. She'd never see him after this night concluded, was it really so wrong of her to want to stretch out the remaining time she had with him?

"Bast... I just..." Margaery glanced at Suiteheart, finding a way to press into her wife more, using her as a grounding source. She had always been her grounding source. "I love you. I'm so proud of you. Thank you."

"Thank you so much."

"Is this all really necessary?"

Margaery's inquiry was paired with a sigh, a frown curving chocolate colored lips as she came to a halt before Thea. Fighting at a time like this seemed to benefit nobody but if it was what it was and she dared not try to stop it. Besides, maybe a fight like this one would provide a bit of much needed entertainment, especially if she viewed it as more of a spar than anything else. "At least try to fight fair," The vampiress suddenly added, "You two still are clanmates."

Margaery was entirely unbothered by the fact that everyone had been demoted, lips merely pursed as she joined the forming group heeding to Bast's call. She was a bit shocked to see the fighting, a metaphorical brow arching as she settled down besides Oni, silently nodding in agreement with his words. "He's right," The chocolate point casually extended, a gray gaze lingering on Crowdcontrol and Thea, unimpressed, "And the fact that you two are fighting over something so trivial is admittedly appalling." She didn't have anything else to say on the matter, looking more tired than anything else as she rested a head upon her paws. After years of climbing social ladder after social ladder, maybe it was finally time for a well needed break. "I can look after the ambassador system though, that seems intriguing."

MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
The picturesque scenery had admittedly been one of the selling points for Margaery when she had decided to join all those months ago, immediately endeared by the rolling fields of flowers and the natural beauty the territory seemed to exude. She had always felt comfortable surrounded by nature and here especially, she was able to plant and maintain a garden quite easily to further the already lovely views, another almost necessity that the vampire needed wherever she went. Tanglewood had once been of interest to her, its darkened swamps and too-long shadows once of great interest to her, but in the recent days, she had come easily to the conclusion that she'd never be happy there. The Ascendants with its lush meadows and riveting ruins was the place for her, no doubt about it.

Margaery had been wandering around when the sound of voices piqued her interest, direction changing as she decided to go and investigate. Was this stranger another joiner? Interesting. The chocolate point would fall into place besides Bast, studying Vendetta through curious blue eyes. She still wasn't used to seeing faces she hadn't in a week and a half out and about again, but it was a welcome change. A very welcome change. "Hello, love."

MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
How strange it was to see faces she hadn't in close to two weeks. The lockout had been an unfortunate occurrence, one that had succeeded in devastating her the moment she had asked about everyone only to discover that they were trapped away with what she assumed to be dwindling resources. It had been hard to do much of anything while she worried about her children and her friends from the outside world, but at least they could all say that the nightmare was over. That didn't strip away the peculiar feeling she detected as she joined Bast and Thea on the border, a faint smile present upon her lips as she regarded Padmé. It wasn't a bad feeling, just one unexpected. "And I'm Margaery, hello."

MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
"Lupus paulo, you should be resting."

Margaery's voice was quiet, laced heavily with concern as she joined Ishayu and Onision on the border. She had heard about her son activating his curse while trapped within the Observatory, adding it easily to the list of things that should never had happened. If only she had fought back and refused her father... she could have been able to protect him from the gene his own grandfather had inevitably passed to him, keeping him and the rest of his siblings out of harm's way. His transformation did make her think (and worry) about how many others in her latest brood carried the curse though, the number uncertain until each of them made their first kill and either succumbed to the wolf inside of them or walked away feeling entirely normal. Being the mother to a bunch of supernatural children was not easy. Not at all.

But Margaery had no choice but to dismiss her thoughts, a gray-blue gaze focusing now upon Ishayu. "Welcome to the Ascendants, love," The girl would greet, nodding her head carefully, "My name is Margaery Mikaelson. Thank you for the gifts, they're very much appreciated." She paused for a moment, contemplating her next words before permitting one of her honeyed smiles to make a not-so-rare appearance. "How is Sunhaven? Do you need anything for your return home?"

MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
Margaery had never seen herself as the type to gamble, not when there was often too much at stake all balanced on the delicate (yet precarious) shoulders of fate and luck. She was of the firm belief that she elected what happened to her, rewriting her own destiny with her own hands and ripping apart the predetermined one that had once stood in its place. Gambling stripped her of that ability, it left her vulnerable and hoping that she didn't lose whatever she had been stupid enough to offer. It was a shame that, as she approached, Genevieve decided to push her influence a bit and halfway take control, gray eyes flickering red.

"I'll play, sugar," The vampiress extended casually, shoulders rising and falling in a casual shrug. She had nothing on her person worth adding to Anima's knife but made a note to return home should the other female demand a contribution. "My name is Genevieve but she doesn't like when I introduce myself, call me Margaery." Her introduction was rather reluctant in nature, a frown curving her darkened lips as Margaery struggled against her far more dominant self. She'd let her return sooner than later, but not before this game had concluded- Margaery couldn't tell card games apart to save her life.

MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
Margaery had already been long gone by the time the Observatory had entered lockdown, somewhere far away from the Ascendants territory and hating every second of it. She hadn't expected to return only to discover Suiteheart and a handful of others, her children and the rest of her family kept away from her by whatever malfunction that initially caused all the doors to lock. It didn't help that her wife was angry at her either, leaving Margaery without her typical sources for advice - Hazel, Bastille, Cooper, and Roy. But if she was currently hearing Bast's voice, that had to mean...

Without even processing the remainder of that thought, Margaery had abandoned her seat in the shade of a tree near the Observatory to head towards its entrance, a sigh of relief spilling from parted lips the moment she saw Thea and Bast. "Oh thank goodness," She breathed, attempting to pull the latter into a hug, "Are you all okay? Are my other children okay? I'm sorry for leaving. I should never have."

MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
Margaery had been unaware of Nero's attack on Shininglight. Regardless, she understood the implications of losing control, of giving into the insatiable hunger that plagued her day in and day out. Of course, she had learned to live with the dull ache that perpetually ailed her stomach, the desire to exchange her morals for a furious killing frenzy not as strong anymore. A hundred years ago, she certainly hadn't been able to say the same, not with all the chaos and havoc that she and Aerona wrecked upon the world. But that had been an era of Genevieve, not Margaery, and the chocolate point liked to believe that she had a little more grace than her less-than-subtle counterpart. Now, anyways.

As she approached the border, gaze weary and shoulders - surprisingly - slumped, she was immediately made aware of both the sight and sound of Nero. Chocolate-capped paws would carry her quickly to him, her blue eyes widening the moment they saw how frail and starved he appeared. No, no, that wouldn't do. He needed blood immediately. "It doesn't matter what he did," Margaery would inform softly, "Not now anyways. He needs to eat. My dear, do you need help? Please, I'll go out and get you anything you need." In truth, her offer was partly selfish- she had not indulged in the blood of another in a few days, too consumed by grief and anger over her current feud (could she call it that? She admittedly didn't know) with Suiteheart. It would be good for the both of them, she had decided, and hardly wished to wait for his confirmation on whether or not she could steal away to bring them both back something. "Other than that," She would begin, a poor attempt at distracting her mind from the inevitable need for blood, "Do you need anything else? Are you hurt? Tell me everything!"

MARGAERY MIKAELSON-FOLIE
"I'll come along, love."

Uncomfortable, she appeared visibly uncomfortable as she approached, metaphorical brows stitched together in a way that screamed worry. Suiteheart was beyond unhappy with her, she recognized that, and while her wife's displeasure was entirely misdirected (and for good reason- Margaery had to ensure that she was indeed angry at her) it still killed her inside to know that she was unwelcome here. "I won't be able to eat anything," Neither will you, "But I want to help the others." A timid smile momentarily danced upon dark lips, its spark all but extinguishing the moment she realized that Suite, too, was rather hungry. You're angry at me, I know that... But you need to take care of yourself. Please, I can't stand to know that you're starving.

She expected a rush of anger to meet her words and silently embraced for its impact, swallowing hardly. Never before had her wife's presence been so excruciating and for the first time in one thousand years, Margaery found herself wishing that someone else would come along to assist them. She'd glance awkwardly over her shoulder at that thought, wondering if it would be Moon that came to her rescue. She hoped so- he'd help to eliminate the burning tension that now burned so brilliantly between she and Suite.
